TEAM FUNDRAISING IDEAS:

  • Talk to HR: Post a notice in your company’s online collaboration space and ask the company HR department to help you get the word out, or support the team directly.
  • Virtual Happy hour: Invite your friends and coworkers to join you for a virtual happy hour. Participants can socialize remotely over video chat while enjoying their favorite snack or drink from their home.
  • Host a Virtual Lunch-In: Invite your coworkers to share pictures of their home-made lunch while they work remotely, and donate the amount they otherwise would have spent to your team goal instead.
  • Get the boss involved: See if your boss will help the team by promising a reward when you meet the goal. Who wouldn’t want to see the boss host the next all staff meeting dressed like Batman?
  • Recipe Swap: Like a bake sale, but more do-it-yourself. Ask people to donate a certain amount to your fundraiser and you will send them your favorite recipe. If you can’t share your favorite cookies, you can at least share your favorite recipes.
  • IOU cook-out: Plan a cook-out, either at your workplace or in your own backyard and schedule it for a later time. When social distancing is over, invite your supporters over and thank them with your hospitality.
  • E-book swap: Is your e-reader full of books you own? Many services, including Kindle and Kobo, allow you to loan the books you own to your friends. Ask them to donate and then loan them your copy of that book they’ve been meaning to read.
  • Virtual costume party: Ask your friends, family and colleagues to donate $5 or more to be invited to a Virtual Costume Party. Host a video chat and ask everyone to wear a mask, costume or their favorite outfit.
  • Ask for help - Reach out to us directly if you need any guidance, we’re here to help you and your team.

 Individual fundraising ideas:

  • Rely on your own furry friend – Do you have your own furry friend at home? Get your pet in on the effort by posting pictures of your pup or cat with each update on your progress.
  • Movie night – Set up a virtual movie watching party. Invite your friends, colleagues and family to join your for a virutal movie night from everyone's homes. Pick a movie with universal applea, that's available on many streaming platforms and invite people to tune in at the same time. Ask attendees to donate the amount they would have spent going out to your fundraiser instead.
  • Personal fitness challenge – Challenge yourself to keep active and ask friends, colleagues and family to donate to your fitness and fundraising goals. Ask people to donate a $5 for every day you make progress on that fitness goal.
  • Get crafty – Consider making a gift for every donor to your fundraiser who gives over a certain amount. Is your thumb particularly green? Why not repot a few houseplants and give them to anyone who donates $50 to your campaign. Deliver either via no-contact drop-offs or later, when social distancing is over.
  • Send a note - Write a handwritten thank you note to your donors and put them in the mail. Everyone likes to get a personal note and it's a nice way to keep connected with your network.
