Bridget Bittman's Bark from the Heart
This has been a challenging time for everyone. But I'm happy to report that my rescue dog, Shea Bear Poodle, has provided a loving and calming presence in my life, and Emily's too! Plus, my last dog, Ozzie Bear Poodle, who was also a rescue pup brought me so much comfort during some very difficult times of my life. While I don't know the full story behind why Shea or Ozzie needed new homes, I appreciate the people who made it a priority to give these dogs a second chance at life, with ME!
I've been working at t The Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago. It's an amazing place that helps animals that are abandoned, mistreated, or neglected. Or sometimes a pet owner passes away or simply cannot afford to take care of their pet, and they do the right thing by placing it in our care. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, even domestic rats(!) are always welcome. This is truly a place where all animals are given a second chance at life!
And you can help me help the animals that are given second chances by The Anti-Cruelty Society. By donating to my Bark from the Heart fundraiser, you are helping pets receive vital medical treatment, love, and care while they wait for their forever homes.
In 2019 The Anti-Cruelty Society helped over 5,700 animals find homes. They also reached over 21,000 people through their outreach programs; helped 1,770 abused or neglected animals through their field outreach service; and spayed or neutered nearly 10,000 animals.
Any donation you are able to make will make a difference in the lives of the thousands of animals served by The Anti-Cruelty Society.
