Welcome to My Personal Page
Hi everyone!
This year I am (hopefully, pending the pandemic) fulfilling a dream of running the Chicago Marathon, AND I get to do so on behalf of the Anti-Cruelty Society! As many of you likely know, I was lucky enough to get my dog Sophie from ACS in January 2018, and she has been the light of my life ever since. I love the mission of ACS, and I am really excited to help raise funds for such an awesome organization that helps find homes for so many amazing animals. My life would look very different without the help of ACS, and I am forever grateful that they were able to take in Sophie when they did and help get her healthy and re-homed in Chicago :)
In light of the above, I am asking for your help in reaching my donation goal of $2,500 to the Anti-Cruelty Society! Sophie, ACS, and I appreciate any amount you are able to donate, and I promise to run every training and race mile with all of you in mind. In fact, Sophie will also be completing some training runs with me! But mostly because she wasn't nicknamed "Soph the loaf" for nothing... :)
Thank you, truly, to all of you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give. I can't wait to run, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to help raise money for such a deserving organization.
And for those of you interested, here is some background on the wonderful Anti-Cruelty Society: In 1899, Rose Fay Thomas, wife of Chicago Symphony Orchestra founder Theodore Thomas, established The Anti-Cruelty Society and forever changed the landscape of animal welfare throughout the Chicago region. Since that time, the Society has endured as Chicago's oldest and largest open admission animal welfare organization, one that provides a wide breadth of programs that save the lives of thousands of animals each year. A certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the recipient of a four-star Charity Navigator rating, The Anti-Cruelty Society’s mission is to build a community of caring by helping pets and educating people.
Today, The Anti-Cruelty Society remains the oldest and the largest open admission animal welfare organization in Chicago. All animals are welcome at the Society every day of the year. We never turn an animal away from our doors. Ever. And once an animal is admitted, they can stay as long as it takes to find their forever home.
However, the care that we provide to animals in need is only possible through the friendship and support of our community. And by choosing to run with Team Anti-Cruelty, you are making a difference to each and every one of the animals that comes to us in search of hope, comfort, and healing.
