I ran this marathon to support a friend.
Most the time people run for charity to support that charity. Although I believe in the mission of the Anti-cruelty society and want to help all the animals, I ran this marathon to support a friend.
My friend Jim (pictured with me below) had a stretch goal and bucket list item of finishing a marathon. Both of us entered the lottery for the Chicago Marathon and did not get selected. I told Jim we had the option to run for charity and he said he was in. Having adopted all my pets I believe in finding homes for all the paws!!! Running for the Anti-Cruelty Society was a perfect fit.
Jim and I worked hard throughout the year to get ready for this race. We spent many mornings before work and during lunch training.
Today, I can proudly say we both finished the marathon, all 26.2 miles.
Please help me reach my fundraising goals by donating to http://give.anticruelty.org/site/TR/Events/General?px=1189127&pg=personal&fr_id=1070
Harper Friends: As I mentioned before I ran this to help Jim (who isn’t on social media). Instead of donating to me, Please support Jim and his accomplishment by donating to his fundraising page. http://give.anticruelty.org/site/TR/Events/General?px=1190152&pg=personal&fr_id=1070
Thanks for all your support,
Amy
